What Is the O-Shot?

The O-Shot, short for Orgasm Shot, is a groundbreaking non-surgical procedure that uses Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood to rejuvenate and enhance sexual function in women. This innovative treatment harnesses your body's natural healing and regenerative capabilities to improve intimate wellness.

Developed by Dr. Charles Runels, the O-Shot procedure has helped thousands of women worldwide address various concerns related to sexual function, urinary incontinence, and overall vaginal health. The treatment is minimally invasive, safe, and requires virtually no downtime.

How PRP Works for Sexual Wellness

Platelet-Rich Plasma contains concentrated growth factors that stimulate tissue regeneration, improve blood flow, and enhance nerve sensitivity. When injected into specific areas of the vaginal tissue, these growth factors:

  • Stimulate the growth of new cells and blood vessels
  • Increase sensitivity and natural lubrication
  • Improve tissue elasticity and tone
  • Enhance overall vaginal health and function

Frequently Asked Questions

The O-Shot® (Orgasm Shot) is a treatment that uses your body's own platelet-rich plasma (PRP), taken from a small blood draw, and gently injected into specific areas of the vagina and clitoris. The growth factors in PRP are designed to support healthy tissue, blood flow, and sensitivity, which may help with sexual function and comfort.

Many women seek the O-Shot® to help with: low desire or difficulty with arousal, trouble reaching orgasm, vaginal dryness or discomfort with intimacy, and mild stress urinary leakage (leaking with coughing, laughing, or exercise). Results vary, and not everyone will experience the same benefits.

During perimenopause and menopause, changes in hormones can affect desire, lubrication, comfort with intimacy, and bladder control. The O-Shot® can sometimes be part of a broader plan that may include vaginal health support and hormone optimization at O Shot Miami. We'll help you understand what role, if any, the O-Shot® should play in your overall menopause care.

The O-Shot helps support low libido by using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own blood to improve blood flow, nerve sensitivity, and tissue health in the vaginal and clitoral area. The growth factors in PRP may enhance arousal, increase sensitivity, and support stronger, more satisfying orgasms. This natural, non-surgical treatment is commonly used by women experiencing low libido related to hormonal changes, menopause, or reduced sensitivity.

Women seek the O-Shot® in Miami for many reasons, including: reduced sensitivity, changes after childbirth, hormonal shifts during perimenopause or menopause, vaginal dryness or discomfort, and decreased confidence or intimacy concerns. This treatment is ideal for women looking for a natural alternative without surgery, hormones, or downtime.

While individual results vary, patients commonly report: improved sensitivity and arousal, enhanced vaginal tissue health, increased blood flow to intimate areas, and improved confidence and overall wellness.

A typical O-Shot® visit includes: consultation & consent, blood draw (small amount from your arm), PRP preparation (blood spun in special centrifuge), numbing (topical and/or local anesthesia), and injection (PRP gently injected into specific areas). The entire visit typically takes about 45–60 minutes.

Most patients describe the procedure as mildly uncomfortable rather than painful. We use a combination of topical and/or local numbing to minimize discomfort. You may feel pressure or brief stinging at times, but the injections themselves are usually quick.

Most women can drive themselves home, return to normal daily activities the same day, and resume sexual activity as advised by the provider (often within 24 hours, depending on your comfort and individual plan). Any temporary soreness, fullness, or sensitivity usually improves quickly.

This varies by person. Some women report changes within days to a few weeks, while others see most of their benefits over 3–4 months as the tissue responds and regenerates. Results cannot be guaranteed.

For many patients, benefits may last around 12–18 months, though this can vary. Some women choose to repeat the treatment periodically based on their response and goals. Your provider will discuss a follow-up plan that makes sense for you.

Some women feel satisfied after one treatment, while others may benefit from repeat sessions. The timing depends on your response and goals. During follow-up visits, we'll review your results and decide together if and when a repeat treatment makes sense.

Because the O-Shot® uses your own PRP, it reduces the risk of allergic reactions. However, as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks such as temporary discomfort, swelling, or bruising; spotting or mild bleeding; and infection (rare but possible). At O Shot Miami, we review your medical history, discuss risks and benefits, and use sterile technique to help keep the procedure as safe as possible.

You may be a good candidate if you: are bothered by changes in sexual desire, arousal, or orgasm; have mild urinary leakage or vaginal dryness; are looking for a non-surgical option using your own blood; and are generally in good health. Certain medical conditions, medications, or pregnancy may mean the O-Shot® is not appropriate. A consultation at O Shot Miami is required to confirm if it's right and safe for you.

You may not be a candidate if you are pregnant, have a current pelvic or vaginal infection, have certain blood or bleeding disorders, have untreated gynecologic conditions that need attention first, or are on medications or have health issues that increase your risk. We will go over your health history and, if needed, suggest seeing your gynecologist or another specialist before proceeding.

The O-Shot® is not typically performed during pregnancy. Breastfeeding requires an individualized discussion, considering your health history and comfort level. Your provider will review risks, benefits, and timing during your consultation.

The O-Shot® may help some women with mild stress urinary leakage, but it is not a treatment for advanced pelvic organ prolapse or severe incontinence. In those cases, you may need a pelvic floor specialist, urogynecologist, or additional therapies.

Yes. The O-Shot® and other intimate wellness treatments are meant to complement, not replace, your routine gynecologic care. You should still keep up with Pap smears, mammograms, and other recommended screenings with your primary care provider or gynecologist.

No insurance accepted. Most intimate wellness and regenerative procedures, including the O-Shot®, are considered elective and are not covered by insurance. At O Shot Miami, we will review all fees, payment options, and any available packages with you before you decide on treatment.

Price is $1500 at Oshot Miami and other items can be added such as Wing Lift or hormone programs. Please contact our office directly or check our current specials page for the most up-to-date information.

Yes. Many women choose to combine the O-Shot® with Wing Lift (for labial/vulvar volume and aesthetics), menopause support (lifestyle and hormone guidance), and hormone optimization or pellet therapy. We'll design a personalized plan to match your goals, comfort level, and medical history.

Your first step is to schedule a consultation. At this visit we will discuss your symptoms, concerns, and goals; review your medical history and any available labs; explain the O-Shot® and other treatment options; and design a personalized plan that feels right for you. You'll have plenty of time to ask questions so you can make a comfortable, informed decision with Dr. Nina Gupta, MD with over 37 years clinical experience in women's health.
